I 'm very aware of gimmicky skincare. When I hear there's gold, platinum or any other component of fancy jewllery in my face cream, I am instantly pessimistic!
La Praire love infusing anything shiny into they're products-pearls, diamonds, platinum, gold and now crystals! So I didn't expect to be impressed by this new serum. And being honest, I wasn't impressed at all.
La Prairie claims this new serum is a "skincare revolotion". It contains crushed diamonds and quarts crystals to re-firm, re-plump and re-ignite luminosity into the skin. "A mixture of high-tech peptides, amino acids, alpha hydroxy acids, and plant extracts combine to help smooth skin, while caviar extracts and La Prairie's exclusive Cellular Complex help stimulate the skin's natural repair process, moisturizing and energizing with nutrients that encourage optimal functioning."
Although I wasn't impressed this isn't to say the serum is bad-it's not. But in my opinion it's not worth the money and I prefer the Extrait of Skin Caviar Firming Complex. I know I have young skin and I've only been using the serum little over a week but I used it while my mum was using it. Her skin is more mature but relatively normal, just in need of a boost; she felt the same as me-La Prairie hyped up this serum to be something it's not.
Negative: I felt it didn't give any glow to the skin whatsoever. I still used some illuminator mixed in with my foundation. I don't think it made my skin any firmer and it certainly hasn't speeded up my skin's repair process. Texture is very slimy and a drop took along time to absorb into my skin. You need to combine it with the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream for it to have any effect. The Luxe Cream costs a whopping $390.00 for a tiny jar!
Score: 6/10
